OUR COMMUNITY MEETINGS
AND YOU
Our community meetings present a unique opportunity to interact
with our guest speakers, our fellow members, and our neighbors,
providing a forum for dialogue with each other. It's something that
you can't get from the internet. So, to best serve you and to encourage
you to attend our meetings , we are asking YOU to review some of
the meeting elements below and to comment on how best to present
them.

NEXT EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE (EXCOM)
MEETING DATES Select "EXCOM" on the LISC
calendar options or call our hotline
516-826-0801 for location. All members
(only) are welcome. Note that meetings generally occur on the second
Monday of each month. For the latest details always check the calendar.

Wanted: Meeting Rooms
We desperately need meeting rooms in both Suffolk and Nassau Counties
to hold our bi-monthly community meetings, our monthly Excom meetings
and special events. If you know of any library, VFW hall, church,
etc. that will let us use their facilities for free or charge us
a nominal fee, please leave a message on our hotline: 516-826-0801.
Day and Time:
We have been meeting on Wednesday evenings as long as I can remember.
Is there another day and time you prefer? How about Saturday mornings
or Sunday afternoons?
Topics of Interest:
Tell us what you want to hear and discuss. Do you want topics of
a more serious nature and controversial nature? Would you prefer
a lighter discourse or entertainment?
Location:
We are always looking for new places to visit, especially if they
are comfortable, easy to find and low cost. Do you know of a place
that may suit our needs? Or would you prefer to have one central
location for all of our meetings?
Format:
Length of meeting, number of speakers or more discussion from different
sides?
Like the basic law of bio-diversity, the more of you that make up
our audience, the better we can express ourselves, and the more
of an environmental influence we will be on Long Island. Please
contact our Outreach Chair,
for your ideas on producing a meeting that you will attend and enjoy.
Meeting reminder:
Our meetings are open to all - it is free of charge and no reservations
are required for either the walks or the meetings. Pre-meeting walks
will be held unless there is severe weather conditions. And, since
we are serving delicious refreshments, you are encouraged to bring
along your favorite beverage mug to help reduce waste.
