America's Wilderness with the Sierra Club
The Sierra Club Outings Department offers trips throughout the United States and around the world. These trips, which are generally one week long, include lodge-based, backpack, walking, base-camp, kayak/canoe, service, hiking, family and more. Joanne Steele (Chair) and Andy Moss (Outings Chair) will present slideshows of some Sierra Club trips that have been offered in the United States, as well as an overview of International trips that span the globe.
If you have never been on a Sierra Club trip you should consider one for your next vacation. These trips are developed by volunteers who make every effort to provide a memorable experience that is safe, exciting, and meets your expectations. Trip prices vary greatly by type of trip from modest costs for Service trips to higher prices for trips that feature luxurious food and accommodations. There are hundreds of trips every year for you to choose from. (http://content.sierraclub.org/outings/)
Sierra Club trips journey to locales that include rugged mountain tops, calm river waters, canyons, lakes, and National Parks. They range in difficulty from easy walks to remote wilderness backpacking. The Sierra Club wants to get you to explore, enjoy and protect the planet. The first step is to show the planet to you. That is what these trips are all about. Then it is hoped you will want to protect our wilderness and planet.
