3rd Sierra Club Fall Festival

John Hanson Mitchell - Author of Seven Environmental Books gave a Sierra Club Talk At Fund Raiser - "Nature And The Sense of Place".

On September 12th, 2002 John Hanson Mitchell, well known nature writer and editor of Sanctuary, the award winning magazine of Massachusetts Audubon Society, talked at the annual Sierra Club Fall Festival. Mitchell is the author of Ceremonial Time: 15,000 Years on One Square Mile of Land, as well as a number of other environmental books examining the concept of ‘place’, such as The Wildest Place On Earth and A Field Guide To Your Own Back Yard. His most recent book, Following The Sun, is a buffet of armchair travel tracing his 1,500 mile pilgrimage on an antique Peugeot bicycle from southern Spain to the Scottish Hebrides. Mr. Mitchell will focus his talk on ‘Nature and the Sense of Place’ and he invited group questions and discussion.
