REGIONAL TRAILS INITIATIVE  by the Genesee Transportation Council

SUBJECT: Regional Trails Initiative Draft Public Review Document and Public Meetings --On March 18, 2002, the Genesee Transportation Council (GTC) will be releasing the Draft Regional Trails Initiative Public Review Document for a 30-Day Public Review Period.

Written comments on the Draft Regional Trails Initiative Public Review Document will be accepted via mail, fax, and E-mail from Monday, March 18 through Tuesday, April 16, 2002.

The Draft Regional Trails Initiative Public Review Document will be available for public review at the following locations:

* Genesee Transportation Council, 50 West Main Street, Suite 8112, Downtown Rochester

* Monroe County Office Building, 39 West Main Street, Downtown Rochester

* Avon Free Library, 143 Genesee Street, Avon

* Fairport Public Library, Village Landing on Main Street, Fairport

* Greece Public Library, 2 Vince Tofany Boulevard, Greece

 * Pioneer Library, 4595 State Route 21, Canandaigua

* Rochester Central Library, 115 South Avenue, Downtown Rochester-- * Walworth-Seely Library, 3600 Lorraine Drive, Walworth

The Draft Regional Trails Initiative Public Review Document will also be available in Adobe PDF format on GTC's web site at www.gtcmpo.org (click on the Regional Trails Initiative icon).

Additionally, GTC has scheduled six public input meetings to present the findings and Draft Recommendations to the public and to get their input: Monday, March 18, from 7 - 9 p.m. in the Kate Gleason Auditorium at the Rochester Central Library, 115 South Avenue (Broad Street entrance), Downtown Rochester, Tuesday, March 19, from 7 - 9 p.m. at the Greece Town Library, 2 Vince Tofany Blvd., Greece (off of Long Pond Road), Wednesday, March 20, from 7 - 9 p.m. in the Court Room at Perinton, Town Hall, 1350 Turk Hill Road, Fairport, Monday, March 25, from 7 - 9 p.m. at Canandaigua City Hall, 2 North, Main Street, Downtown Canandaigua, Tuesday, March 26, from 7 - 9 p.m. at the Avon Village Hall, 74, Genesee Street, Avon, Thursday, March 28, from 7 - 9 p.m. at Walworth Town Hall, 3600,Lorraine Drive, Walworth --The purpose of the Regional Trails Initiative is to develop a comprehensive action plan to create and maintain a safe, accessible, and highly functional regional trail system that is fully integrated with the existing transportation system and is a nationally recognized distinguishing feature of this region.
