Winter Solstice Celebration
5:30pm Thursday, December 14th,
Chestnut Court, St. John’s
Meadows,
220 Johnsarbor Drive West,
Brighton, New York

Most Sierra Club members love
“Our Feathered Friends”
and now we can visit them “up close and alive.” Ron Walker will be there
with his Tufted Screech Owl, his Barred Owl and his Red Shouldered Hawk
for our annual Winter Solstice Celebration. This is a program which
Rochester Group families with children will particularly enjoy. We also
hope to greet many new members of Rochester Group.
Bring a dish to share and your own utensils. We
will provide wine and cheese from 5:30 to 6:15pm. followed by our shared
dinner from 6:15 to about 7:00pm. After a brief annual report to members
by our Chairperson Frank Regan, we will see live (but too injured to
release) tufted and non-tufted owls and a hawk. Thanks to Ginny Tyler we
again will hold this popular event at the St. John’s Meadows residence.
Directions: The residence is on the south side
of Elmwood Avenue, just west of South Clinton Avenue in Brighton. Look
for the white fence and sign. After entering the complex bear right on
Johnsarbor to Chestnut Court. If you plan to come a call ahead of time
to our Sierra Club number (585) 234-1056 would be appreciated so we have
some idea of the number to expect. Again, please remember to bring a
dish to pass.
